43,000 people are currently walking past my house. That's the theory, at least; today is Boston's Walk for Hunger, which proceeds down Beacon Street past my front door. Every year I threaten to sit out in the front lawn eating food, just on general principle, but it's never quite worked out. Today is a cold and rainy day, and the crowds are much less than usual. I'll be surprised if half the normal quantity of people are walking.
